Community Welfare Services

At the moment, LCS is providing community welfare services on a small scale. The effort is guided by a set of policies which aims to achieve good casework management and encourage self-reliance.

Besides financial assistance, welfare clients also receive support in such areas as pastoral counseling and referral services to social service centres and residential care institutions. We have links with the Care Corner Singapore, the Presbyterian Community Services, All Saints Home and social workers at the Institute of Mental Health.

LCS purchased a set of niches from Spiritual Grace Columbarium in 2005 which are offered to Church members and their families at preferential rates as a welfare service for members.

Beyond the effort locally, LCS is also embarking on projects outside Singapore. One project provides schooling opportunities for 50 poor children in the villages of Jieyang in China. Such efforts are carried out in conjunction with the mission activities of the Church.
